CROSS COUNTRY HEADED TO STATE

Flyin' Hawks - State Bound

Birdville Hawks produced yet another State finalist after a close Regional Meet in Lubbock, TX.

Birdville took two Flyin’ Hawks, Quinn Dixon and Isaiah Cox, to the Regional Cross Country Meet. Dixon was heartbreakingly close to making it back to state for a second year in a row but narrowly missed by one place.

Qualifying for state proved to be a daunting task. Only four teams advance and the top 10 individuals not running on those teams. Cox finished 15th overall and was one of this region's 10 individuals earning his place at the starting line for the state meet and representing the Hawks. He ran 3.1 miles in an impressive 16 minutes and 26 seconds to accomplish this feat.

Birdville High School will proudly host a state send-off for Cox on November 2nd at 9 am. Community members, family and friends are invited to join the school to clap out our state-bound runner. The send-off will begin at 9 am under the front porch at the main entrance of BHS.

Best of luck to Isaiah, we know you will make us proud!
