NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

7 Athletes Sign 

National Letter of Intent


National Signing Day was Tuesday November 8th. Across the nation student-athletes signed their intent to continue play with their prospective colleges. Birdville High had seven athletes sign to continue their career. 


CROSS COUNTRY - 

Quinn Dixon signed to the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas. 

Dixon has had a prolific career as a Flyin' Hawk. Some of her accomplishments include being a 3x Area Qualifier, 2022 Area Champion in the 3200m, and 2x regional Qualifier for track. In Cross Country she is a 3x Regional Qualifier, 2022 District Champion and a State Qualifier.

 Dixon will be joining an established team at UTA, who are currently racing at the NCAA South Central Regional after finishing 3rd in the Conference meet. University of Texas at Arlington is a Division 1 program found in the Western Athletic Conference. 


SOFTBALL -  

Emma Becraft signed with Howard College in Big Spring, Texas

Becraft has been a starting catcher for the Hawk Softball team for the past four years. She received Catcher of the Year for the District her Sophomore year and named Second-Team All-District her Junior year. 

Becraft continues to be a Hawk with Howard College. Howard is a Junior College in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. Howard is a perennial powerhouse making it to the Regional Tournament last year and multiple trips to the National Tournament years prior. 


Sydney Taylor signed with Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Taylor was a starting outfielder for Birdville softball last year and led the Hawks batting average in district. She was named to the Honorable-Mention District Team her Junior Year. 

Taylor becomes a Saint when she joins a powerhouse Division III Softball Team. Emmanuel College is in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Emmanuel finished 8-2 in conference play and went 3 rounds in the GNAC Tournament. 


SOCCER - 

Hailey Graham signed with McMurray University in Abilene, Texas. 

Graham is a three year letterman for Hawk Soccer. Graham played in 23 out of the 26 games for Birdville last year. Along with soccer, Graham competes in track for the Hawks. 

Graham will be a War Hawk next year when she joins McMurray in the American Southwest Conference.  McMurray ended the season with a .650 winning percentage and an appearance at the ASWC Championship Tournament. 


Veronica Pacione signed with Texas A&M Commerce University in Commerce, Texas. 

Pacione is a 3 year letterman for Birdville Soccer. Last year she competed for 942 minutes of play and had 31 Saves in the net for the Hawks. She is a two time All-District Player. Pacione also runs Cross Country and Track for the Hawks. 

Pacione will join the Division I Lions at TAMC who are a part of the Southland Conference. The Lions dominated their conference with a 7-1-2 Conference record, claiming second place. Their record solidified a place in the Southland Conference Tournament. 


Celine Diaz signed with University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. 

Diaz is another 3 year letterman for the Hawks. Last year Diaz played 25 matches and led the team in goals with 17. She is a two time All-District selection. 

Diaz is now a part of the Mean Green and University of North Texas Division I Soccer program. UNT is a part of the American Athletic Conference. This year the Mean Green had a .594 winning percentage overall. 


Trinity Doom signed with Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas. 

Doom is the only 4 year letterman to sign for Birdville Soccer this year. Doom is an all round athlete who runs track as well as a stand out for the soccer squad. Doom played every match for the Hawks and almost every minute. She had 6 goals attributed to her last year. Doom has been named an All-District selection all three years she has been at Birdville. 

Doom heads to west Texas to become a part of the Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals. LCU is a private Division II school in the Lonestar Conference.  LCU narrowly missed the conference tournament this year, but was still able to finish the season with a .500 season. 


Congratulations to Quinn, Emma, Sydney, Hailey, Veronica, Celine and Trinity. You seven athletes exemplify the hard work it takes to become a college athlete. We know you will represent Birdville High School well in your future endeavors.
